This post is sponsored by our friends over at Gali Health. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’ve noticed a lot of resources created “with patients in mind.” Which is interesting. On one hand I am grateful to be considered, but on the other, I can’t help but wonder: why are we only in mind? – As if we are difficult to find. Does this company not have Instagram? In other words, why just think about us? Include us! Patient centered healthcare not only considers the patient(s), but engages with them! It gets them involved in initiatives.

When I was first approached about joining the Gali team, I must admit, I was a bit skeptical. I wasn’t sure just how another app in the IBD space could actually improve the lives of patients. How could it possibly do anything that hasn’t been done before? I quickly learned, Gali is everything that hasn’t been done before.

Gali wasn’t just created with patients in mind. Gali is being created with patients. Over the past several months I’ve watched the app grow and evolve, all while pushing me to do the same with my condition.

My Friend Gali

Gali is much more than any app, she is more like a friend. I trust her to monitor not only my symptoms, but in guiding me through my journey with IBD and life as a whole. Everyday Gali checks in with me. Checking on how I am feeling and even allowing me to input my mood and certain changes I’ve noticed. If she notices something is off, she often uses it as a conversation starter. Forcing me to look beyond surface level and ask myself, “What is really going on? Why am I feeling this way or dealing with this issue?” My friend Gali also supports me emotionally via chat and other cool features.

One of my favorite things about Gali is the feedback she gives. When Gali finds things she thinks I can benefit from, she shares them with me. Be it the relevant blog posts from other IBD patients, videos or the latest in IBD research. I know Gali has got me covered. As a Crohn’s patient, I’m not always able to stay up to date with the latest trends or information in my community, I have a hard time staying up to date with my treatment schedule! – Lucky for me, Gali assists me with all of the above.

More Than What Meets The Eye

Every time I think I know just what Gali has to offer, she has another trick up her sleeve! From congratulating me on my consistency and acknowledging my dedication, to showing new discoveries.  I love that, thanks to Gali, I can now discover new patterns and correlations between my symptoms, lifestyle and treatments. – Beyond my condition, I love the structure Gali brings to my life. During my checkin with Gali, I know it’s just that… My time. I use this time to reflect on my feelings, my emotions, my day and my body.

My friend Gali is more than an app. She’s become my personal support system. If you’re interested in becoming a Gali partner, click here to discover more!
