The Holidays: Give Back Without Leaving Your Home
I’ve said it many times on my blog, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to say it once more: this is absolutely my favorite time of year. I love Christmas time because it’s just so peaceful! It even smells different outside. People are happier, more pleasant. Everyone’s in the “giving spirit.”
This isn’t just my favorite time of year. Growing up my mother went ALL OUT for Christmas. No present went unwrapped! – And no kid was left out or forgotten. My mom made sure to get gifts for everyone, even the most distant of family. She didn’t care where you were, in her mind she could send a care package nationwide!
So you probably already know more about this organization than you think you do. Remember Operation Christmas Child? Packing boxes for less fortunate children (filled with toys and hygiene products)? That’s actually one of Samaritan’s Purse many ministry projects!
Side Note: Did you know that even though the Christmas boxes have already been shipped, you can still pack a box year-round! Click here for more info.
Samaritan’s Purse Mission:
Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Of course with it being the holidays, the organization is well aware of the hectic lifestyle people may be experiencing right now. Because of this (and many other factors), they have created an awesome way you can still help out with minimum effort and time required!
Their 2016 Christmas Catalog! I absolutely LOVE this! You can choose how YOU personally want to contribute and help the less fortunate. Included, is 41 different options to get involved in the Samaritan’s Purse life changing ministry.
Looking to help other “spoonies” like yourself? They have options to provide things like wheelchairs, surgery and other necessities to children with disabilities as well. (Gift #10)
Check out the catalog by clicking here. Remember the smallest gift (under $10) can change a child’s life! 💜
